Clan Leaders 2009
Tracy Andryc Tracy is a mother, an advocate for children, teacher of women's mysteries and student of nature. Over the past decade she has facilitated workshops and rituals at venues such as Rites of Spring, Feast of Lights, The Women's Wellness Spa, RI pagan network events and was an artistic consultant/coordinator for The Women's Sacred Art Festival.
Andrew Arthur is a therapist, teacher, and dramatist who has written award-winning screenplays and directed numerous stage plays and several short films. A long-time student and teacher of shamanism, he studied anthropology and psychology at Harvard University and has led workshops on shamanism and empowerment at leading centers in both Europe and North America.
Moira, shapeshifter, artist, dancer and witch of the Glainn Sidhr Order. She has a MA in Theater from Emerson College and has been leading clans at Twilight Covening for 18 years. She has worked on the Twilight Covening main ritual for 21 years. She also co-creates rituals and workshops at Rites of Spring and A Feast of Lights and is a member of the EarthSpirit Board of directors. This autumn, Moira will be a presenter at Pagan Pride Eastern Massachusetts, and will also be a part of the delegation going to Australia.
Moira uses her skills at seeing patterns to facilitate both her clan work and her chosen profession as a graphic designer and artist. You can see her art and photography at her Deviant Art Gallery.
Katie Birdi holds bachelor's and master's degrees in music from the Hartt School and the University of Massachusetts. She is a music teacher and a member of MotherTongue.
Cerillian currently resides in Charlotte NC, and has been leading clans and workshops for many years. A practitioner of the old ways for 30 years, and a recognized Master in the S/M community, he has been a recognized voice for incorporation of Dark Eros work into gatherings. He is known creating a safe, nurturing and healthy environment for the work to be done, but also believes in a generous sprinkling of fun.
Amanda Brooks-Clemeno began her daily
practice in November 2004; a business trip to India where her associates
practiced yoga daily and a convenient yoga studio located on her everyday
path to work left Amanda no excuses. After her first workshop with Jimmy
Barkan, she knew that her path would take her to a teacher training. In
the summer of 2006, Amanda completed Barkan's 200 hour training. Shortly
after, she completed a vinyasa flow training with Sean Corne. Amanda
teaches traditional hot yoga and vinyasa, and lives by the motto that absolutely anyone can benefit from
yoga, the first step is to simply show up on your mat daily. The gift of
yoga is the strong body and clear mind that we attain.
Susan G. Curewitz Arthen, a member of the Glainn Sidhr Order, has been leading clans since the beginning. She is currently teaching classes in both Rites of Passage and Tarot at various venues including on-line at Cherry Hill Seminary.
Darrell is a learner, writer, poet and environmental engineer. He has traveled extensively in the US and throughout the world and has numerous personal experiences that he uses to shape his life and personal practices. Darrell is a long-time member and leader in the EarthSpirit community.
Painter, sculptor and maskmaker Duncan Eagleson has walked the Path of Craft for over 30 years and has lead clans at Twilight Covening for 11 years.
Mark Girard has been playing percussive instruments since he
was a small child. While being adept at rock and
classical drumming, he has spent the last fifteen
years focused primarily on hand-drumming, specificaly
within the African diaspora. Lately he has been
learning the balaphone and playing latin jazz.
Miriam Klamkin is a Glainn Sidhr Witch, professional astrologer, teacher and spiritual coach. She has led many Clans over the years, exploring the human experience as a vehicle for Spirit.
Chris LaFond is a Celtic Harper and guitar player, and likes any instrument that has strings. He is the musical director of MotherTongue and has many years of experience directing choirs and musical groups.
Jane LeCompte has been learning from/journeying with the drum for more than twenty years. She is a writer and perennial student of story. Her novels focus on women negotiating the pitfalls of culture, and on how mythic patterns manifest in our lives. She serves on the council of The Women's Well, an organization dedicated to the empowerment of women (www.womenswell.org).
Eric Leventhal Arthen is a Glenshire witch and a long time poet. He has found haiku to be a wonderful way to deepen his magical practice and connection with nature, even when daily life makes that challenging.
Jane T. Sibley, Ph.D. is a traditional Norse practitioner who has been teaching at Pagan events for many years. Her new books, "The Divine Thunderbolt: Missile of the Gods" and a historical novel, "The Hammer of the Smith", have just been published; she is now working on a scholarly book on traditional Norse folks and magic medicine.
Rose Starwind is a witch and shaman who has walked with the ancient Mothers since she was a child. Blending her livelihood as an environmental biologist with her duties as a shaman and green witch, she brings a practical, earthy power to her workings and teaching.
Sarah Stockwell-Arthen is a long-time leader and creator of ritual in EarthSpirit, and a Witch in the Glainn Sidhr Order. Through singing she seeks gateways to internal and other-worldly places of mystery, power and healing, and is committed to furthering our use of music to deepen community and ritual experience. Thus, she leads "Peace/Chant/Healing/Sings" about once per season to share the courage, guidance, joy and even physical energy she finds in the music. A lover of the green world who is into sustainable living, permaculture and transition towns, she lives in a solar-electric house that is off the grid. Jason Sykes has been working with Tracy Andryc for several years to present Clans in the tradition handed down to them by Moira Ashleigh and Duncan Eagleson. He calls upon many traditions and personal spiritual experiences to shape his teachings. Jason is a founding member and joint leader of the Spiral Kin and has been a member of the EarthSpirit community for many years.
Juniper Talbot has been a witch for over 25 years and is an Elder in Lenai Aine, a Celtic witchcraft coven. Juniper has toured widely as a professional dance to teach and perform both traditional and creative dance/ritual pieces based on her connection to the earth and ancient Celtic ways. In 2004, she was chosen as one of the delegates representing Paganism to offer her workshop, "Dancing with the Earth" at the Parliament of World's Religions held in Barcelona. Juniper is a professional doula and childbirth educator, and is writing a novel based on the ancient Welsh Mabinogi tales.
Sarah Twichell is a witch and an aspiring urban farmer. She has training in Anamanta and the BlackHeart line of Anderson Feri.
Morwen Two Feathers has been exploring drumming as a path to personal transformation and culture change for over twenty years. Passionate about the power of rhythm to raise energy for good, Morwen has dedicated herself to community service as a drummer, teacher, organizer, and co-creator of sacred space.
Ulf has been a practicing heathen and a godhi for over ten years, and has studied extensively both on his own and with such Elders as Jane Sibley and Diane Paxson. He is the founding member of the Hammer Kindred in CT, and is a working musician, writer, and editor.
