Bear Clan
The main emphasis in this clan will be on entering the otherworld through trance to strengthen and integrate our connections to the worlds mirrored within and around us. To prepare for these inner journeys we will climb upwards into the trees, walk a labyrinth, drum through the night, and finally descend through our own bodies and ground by dancing on the earth. In doing so, we may gain new tools and insight to guide and heal us.
Walter Kittredge, leader

Bison Clan
Many of us want to manifest a change in out lives. Bison is a totem animal for manifestation by right actions and right prayer." This Clan will begin with a questing for purpose and direction. Then, in sacred space, we will begin to create a collage that will serve as a personal talisman to hold our intention for the winter as we bring into our lives those things that we have chosen to focus on whether on a physical, spiritual and/or mental plane. Come prepared to be an artist of the heart...open to the messages you receive to create the that which feeds you deepest.
Jennifer B., leader

Deer Clan
This Clan offers the opportunity to immerse our consciousness in the natural world. Through respectful attention, we can make connections with the beings that surround us. To that end, we will spend time outdoors stilling our minds and extending our senses to increase our awareness of our surroundings on many levels.
Miriam Klamkin, leader

Dragon Clan*
The ancient Celts held a deep understanding of the powerful transformative elements of birth, life and death as experienced in the wheel of the year. We will begin to transform ourselves through unveiling these mysteries as found in ancient Welsh mythology. Through chanting, meditation, shape-shifting and movement, we will develop a personal connection to these ancient Welsh transformative powers. The center of this Clan will use sacred movements gleaned from the spiritual postures of animals natural forces related to the Welsh initiatory cycles. Experience with decoding mythological symbolism and with sitting/walking meditation practices are desirable.
Juniper Talbot, leader

Eagle Clan
For fifty thousand years shamans and witches have used trance to gain access to the hidden world and to bring back stories and myths to delight, amaze and inform their communities. In this workshop participants will learn a variety of techniques for entering trance and journeying to the deep source of creativity and story in the mysterious world of myth and dream. Bring a journal and pen, a bandana and mat, anything you're working on, and a willingness to explore new aspects of trance and the magic of creative storytelling.
Andrew Arthur & Jane LeCompte, leaders

Firefly Clan*
Breath is spirit moving through our bodies. Dancing is a vehicle for exploration. Fire is the doorway of transformation. We will gather ourselves into our bodies through the breath and then release our spirits to travel in an ecstatic dance with fire. In the repetition of the crossing from in, to out of our bodies, the now familiar door becomes a tool for manifesting our desires.
Karina Fireheart & Arana Fireheart , leaders

Griffin Clan*
Like attracts like, and sometimes you have to venture into the darkness to leave behind that which you no longer need. In this clan we will be exploring the world of Dark Eros work. Using magical light S/M , guided meditation, and ritual, we will spend the weekend building our intention as a vessel for release and empowerment. We will create a safe and sane environment for you to stretch your boundaries and explore your inner secrets. (Please choose this Clan only if you are over 18 and do not have issues about physical touch or clothing optional settings.)
Cerillian, leader

Impala Clan
Let us deepen the use of drumming in our community. Impala clan will focus on building drumming skills, listening skills, and endurance. By playing ensemble pieces for extended periods of time, we will push through our 'normal' consciousness to encounter Spirit while making music, reaching for an ecstatic state. Plan on bringing a drum, a warm blanket, and your ears; but feel free to leave your ego at home. Clan members should expect to drum for extended periods of time. This clan is open to drummers of all styles levels.
Mark Hall-Girard, leader

Ombwiri Clan
Ombwiri function as guardian angels or ancestor spirits for a number of tribal groups in central Africa, particularly in Gabon. When providing rhythm or song for a ritual we can act as sonic guardians, providing safe space for others to do their work. In this Clan we will explore what it is that creates a strong sonic (rhythmic or melodic) ritual container enabling people to safely "go out." We will focus heavily on the responsibilities of those who choose to stand in the position of "guardian/musician" in a ritual setting, be it voice, drum, rattle, didjeridoo, or any other instrument. As part of the clan activities we will be making rattles for use in ritual -- all materials provided for an additional materials fee of $10 when you arrive.
Josselyne Price and Steve Trombulak, leaders

Lynx Clan
Autumn is a time of water, the element of psychic energy. In this Clan we will work together to move and feel energy in and around the body - learning ways to sense when our or other's energy is blocked and finding ways to loosen those blocks, working to develop or improve fundamental skills that can be used for healing yourself and others.
Kyriel, leader

Panda Clan
In Panda clan we will challenge ourselves to pursue the essence of our truth through healing touch, movement, music, contact improvisation, breath, reflection and discussion. We will access that truth within a framework of compassion, acceptance, safety and support. Bodywork, breath and movement protocols will draw upon several modalities. Panda represents nurturance, healing and strength and is associated with the Goddess Quan Yin. To thrive and grow, the Panda strips off the outer bark of bamboo to get to the heart of the nourishment. We will follow a similar intention as we work with energy currents in the body, communication and sacred trust to negotiate intimacy and stimulate growth. We will share a cabin.
Aylon Lynx, leader

Phoenix Clan*
Who we are in the world is partly shaped by our experiences. Some of these events were powerful, ecstatic and nourishing. Others are grounded in loss, grief or anger and drain us. This shape changing Clan will loosen and release the energy trapped in one such experience so we can rise to a new level of authenticity and strength. Your letter should state what kind of event (illness, break-up, job loss etc.) you will be working with, why you believe are ready to work on it at an advanced level, and what you have done with it so far. We will be sharing our stories as well as supporting each other, but this is not about therapy.
Susan Curewitz Arthen, leader

Raven Clan**
Turn off your inner judge and join a conspiracy of Ravens. Raven has been called the keeper of Magic and Messenger of Mystery, a channel for magical energy. Using perception exercises, energy shifting and extended time in ritual awareness, open yourself as a conduit for the patterns and rhythms which facilitate deeper transformative experience. This clan will actively participate in the visioning and fire-releasing rituals, and will share a sleeping cabin. Please do not sign up for this clan if you have physical touch issues or mobility challenges.
Moira Ashleigh and Duncan Eagleson, leaders
** Applicants for this clan, who have not been a part of our wolf or crow clans, will be required to submit a separate application letter with the information required for an * clan. This clan is not open to first time Twilight Covening attendees.

Reindeer Clan
Live for a weekend in the manner of Norse and Saami (Lapp) shamanistic traditions as we prepare for the dark-sky time. This immersion experience in these northern traditions will focus on Norse and Saami shamanistic techniques and theory, everyday living in a ritual state, tool and amulet making and other aspects of the home and hearth magic and storytelling so prevalent in these cultures. This Clan will share a cabin.
Jane Sibley and Rev DeCerto, leaders

Sphinx Clan
In this clan for women, we will use our time together to understand and open to our feminine power---the power in the biology of our bodies, and the power of our magical creativity. Through visualization, breathwork, movement and drumming, we will encourage and support deep explorations of our Maiden, Mother, and Crone selves as they relate to the larger ritual of Twilight Covening. Participants should end the weekend with a greater sense of their power to transform thought into reality, more trust in their 'body wisdom', and more confidence in their feminine intuition.
Camilla Parham & Joan Hunt, leaders

Spider Clan*
The Spider's mandala of the Web becomes the staging point for the transition of Life to death and death to life, form to dissolution and back. In this Clan we will create visual elements for magical ritual by accessing that staging point within ourselves and the physical and metaphysical worlds and extracting symbols to bring the essence of that transcendent experience back to others. Experience as a visual artist is welcome but by no means necessary.
Martin Bridge & Kaye Hughes Kittredge, leaders

Turtle Clan"
We gather as Healers to gain strength and power for healing and wholeness (for ourselves and others). Our work is based on recognizing and supporting What Wants To Happen; beginning with the energy of the body and moving toward the integration of energy, imagery and one's own story. Activities will involve body-centered awareness, high sense perception, hands-on energy healing, authentic expression and trance imagery. Our weekend together will include many specific, practical techniques, but emphasize reliance on the guidance of Spirit speaking through the wisdom of the body as we work with each other. For practicing or aspiring healers with prior energy healing training and experience.
