The Waning Crescent Moon, nicknamed the “old moon”, is the eighth and last phase of the Moon.
The Waning Moon is the sickle crescent that harvests.
In the Winter
We are tested
There is less light, less heat
It appears everything around us has drawn in
There is a stillness
A withdrawal into the Earth
We too withdraw into our heated homes
Our heated cars
But in the center of the Earth
As in the center of ourselves
There is a flame
When we reach in we can feel it
Our will to survive, to endure
It is connected to our ability to surpass obstacles
To find the Joy in suceeding against odds
The Joy in being a part of our community, our world
Take a breath and remember times you have succeeded
Fill yourself with the memories of your successes
And know
