EarthSpirit members in Eastern Massachusetts are excited to announce that Andras Corban Arthen will be sharing his knowledge and experience with us by teaching three sessions of his practice in the Boston area. Anamanta (from a Gaelic term meaning "the soul on fire") is a system of core paganism derived from the traditional teachings of a family of Scottish sorcerers, seers and healers.
Recently Andras authored a chapter in the new book Soul Companions: Conversations with Contemporary Wisdom Keepers (now available from Amazon). He is about to travel to Wales to be the Keynote speaker in a workshop series on this new, must-read book.
Andras is also a current Board member of the Parliament of the World's Religions, and one of the delegates selected to travel to Australia and meet with the Native peoples before the next Parliament conference in December 2009. His recent blog of his trip to Mexico is amazing and well wortth the read!
We hope you can make it to these rare Eastern Massachusetts classes in a tradition where the vision of a strong Pagan Community in the NorthEast was born.
Andras Corban Arthen was adopted into
the traditional practices of a Scottish family of witches in 1969. He is cunningman
of the Glenshire witches, as well as an elder in three other branches of contemporary
witchcraft. He is also founder and director of the EarthSpirit Community and has
served on the board of officers of Covenant of the Goddess. Andras has taught
and lectured widely at conferences and academic institutions throughout the countryand abroad.
He has represented the pagan traditions at the United Nations and at the Parliament
of the World's Religions, and has been featured in numerous print and broadcast
media, including the books Witches and Witchcraft (Time-Life Books), Fire in the
Head, Never Again the Burning Times, Being a Pagan, A Community of Witches, and
Modern Pagans, and in the award-winning television program Smithsonian World.
