Silence: Listening to the Voices of the Natural World.

Deirdre Pulgram Arthen

During this weekend you will learn and use techniques that will allow you to open yourself to the streams, the wind, the standing stones and the trees, enabling you to hear the lessons that they offer and translate them with sound, images and poetry. We will not speak much during our time together, but will use this weekend as an opportunity to give our full attention to the other voices present in our world and other ways of "listening".

Deirdre Pulgram Arthenis the Director of EarthSpirit. She is an Elder in the Glenshire Order and has been organizing Rites of Spring since 1980 and singing with MotherTongue since its inception in 1991. In 2004she traveled to Barcelona, Spain, with the EarthSpirit delegation, and served as a member of the Assembly of International Religious and Spiritual Leaders at A Parliament of the World’s Religions. One result of her years spent listening to nature has been a wealt h of chants, invocations, and rituals that are rich in imagery, fluid in language and reveal a profound awareness of the lessons learned from the natural world.

Midlife Metamorphosis: Coming into Your Own in Your Forties

Miriam Klamkin of Night Vision Astrology

It comes much earlier than menopause, and it happens to men as well as to women. It can start as early as age 36 and last until age 45. It is intense, painful, bewildering. Some call it midlife crisis, but I like to think of it as Midlife Metamorphosis, because of its unique potential for breathtaking transformations of spirit. If you are in this phase of your life, this workshop is for you! Informed by insights from astrology, literature and your own experiences, and prepared with exercises that open your senses and heighten your awareness, you’ll embark on a vision quest in search of the power within you.

Miriam Klamkin is a profession astrologer and Glainn Sidhr Witch. Her own personal vision quest has led her to deeper understanding, more confidence and better chocolate. She is 48 years old.

Path of the Blue Dragon

Michael Dunning with Martin Bridge and Wolf Grathwohl

This experiential workshop will explore the energetic landscape of Glenwood and will involve many features including the stone circle and the labyrinth. We will explore the function of these features as Sacred Spaces that relate and interact with local and distant Earth Energies. We will begin on site with a variety of Biolocation/dowsing techniques to identify and map energies and liminal edges. From there we will survey different principles of altering, diffusing or amplifying those energies. There will be a discussion and demonstration of how to identify and work with 'spirit lines' involving shamanic techniques for self -protection and engagement with spirits. As we explore these different facets of working with Earth Energies we will focus on finding practical applications for these skills in our daily lives.

In that time he has done extensive work with the site in accentuating the sacred landscape through building cairns, earthworks and, with the help of his friends, erecting megalithic stonework using only manpower. He brings an organic and intuitive approach in observing and working with the spirits of place.

Wolf Grathwohl has been studying Sacred Landscapes, Sacred Geometry, "Earth Energies",Mythology and Archaeology for over 35 years, when his dad made the mistakeof taking him to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and he saw the Egyptianexhibit for the first time. He has built, and helped others to, severalstone circles over the years, and has visited and worked with many ancientsites in Europe and North America. When not working on a stone circle, you'll usually see him reading at the Haymarket, puffing on a pipe, ordrumming at a fire circle.
