Sacred Land EarthSpirit Community Open HousesEarthSpirit welcomes you to monthly open house events at its center in the hilltowns of western Massachusetts A tour of the land includes sacred sites such as a standing stone circle, a labyrinth and a peace cairn and concludes with programs appropriate to the season. The open houses run from 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM one Sunday each month from May to October. For more information and directions e-mail openhouse@earthspirit.com or call 413-238-4240. Dates and Programs for 2009June 14 - Sun time: Peace/Chant/Sing with Sarah Stockwell-ArthenJuly 12 - Summer: Weed Walk (wild plants) w/Chris CicarelloAugust 16 - First Harvest: Ritual Observance with DawnLughnasad is the first harvest. It is a time in which we look back and recognize the work that we've done that has brought about this bounty. We will look back our regrets, say our farewells to the passing summer, acknowledge and give thanks for this year's crop and looks for ways in which we can preserve what we harvest for the inevitable dark time to come. Join us as we share with each other our thoughts at this time in the circle of the year. September 20 - Autumn: Storytelling with Andras Corban ArthenAndras will share traditional folk songs and stories about magic and the supernatural accompanied by images of sacred and magical places to which they are connected. October 18 - Ancestors: Ritual Observance w/ Deirdre ArthenThis will be a quiet and focused participatory ritual at the Ancestor Shrine at Glenwood to honor our ancestors, both recent and distant. Come open to sharing a short story or memory of those who came before you, ready to listen to others' stories and prepared to welcome their spirits to join us in this sacred place and time.
