Rites of Spring

Rites of Spring 31 ~ May 20-25, 2009

We gather once again to celebrate the sacred Earth
and the turning of the seasons
as the maples and birches grow green in the Berkshire Hills,
the streams rush full down the mountainside
and our hearts fill with
the promise of new beginnings.

Together we will weave the web of community
spanning many generations, traditions and life-styles
around a shared core of deeply-held Earth spirituality.

The sacred fire will burn
as the drums echo the rhythms of life
and the dancers join the sparks flying toward the darkened sky.

Stimulating conversations will continue from one day to the next
and children's laughter will sparkle in the wooded hills.
Lasting friendships will form and grow
as we come together
in our learning, our music, our ritual
and our joy.

EarthSpirit and Tamelin Productions invite you to join us for the thirtieth annual Rites of Spring, a gathering open to all who celebrate the sacred nature of the Earth. Each May since 1979, around Memorial Day our community re-emerges as 500 participants from all over the United States and abroad come together to live and learn, work and play in a setting apart from our everyday lives.

Rites of Spring offers a week filled with over a hundred workshops, rituals and performances. As our circle fully opens on Wednesday and grows on Friday, together we form a vibrant and joyful living community that expands outward with us when we leave.

This year we will take away more than that good will -- we will carry home personal commitments to service, to making a difference in the world around us, based on the strength of our spiritual connection with all of life. Special workshops and rituals throughout the week will invite us to develop a way to serve that is potent and personally meaningful. We will build our future together.

The first two days, of the Village Builders' Assembly, is limited to prior attendees and the first 100 people who sign up. Please follow the link to the Village Builders' Assembly for more information if you are interested in attending of this part of Rites of Spring.

Join us for what promises to be an inspirational and joyful Rites of Spring.
