Craftspeople and artists have always been a big part of Rites
of Spring - they add a lot to the festive atmosphere and we hope that everyone coming to the gathering will support them.
Pagan merchants and craftspeople are welcome to display their wares each day in the outdoor bazaar area. Please complete the Merchants part of the application form, if you wish to be a Merchant at Rites of Spring.
Applications for vending space must be received by April 10th in order to guarantee you a space. Merchants applying by that date will be assigned specific merchant locations. Those who apply after the deadline will be given space as it becomes available.
We recommend that merchants register for the full week and we hope that you will take some time away from your wares to participate in other aspects of the gathering - especially the large whole-community events, like the Web and Maypole Rituals.
There is no fee to merchant, instead there is a 10% commission on gross sales at the end of the gathering to help with our scholarship fund. All merchants must collect and pay Massachusetts state sales tax on items other than groceries or clothing. If you do not yet have a MA Sales Tax Certificate, you may apply for one at: Mass.gov website.
Please describe what you plan to sell on your Merchant application form. This
year the merchant application is included in the online PDF Application
form and in the online registration.
Plan to bring your own table, decorative display setup, weather protection, and safe storage facilities. Nothing larger than a 10x20 tent is legally allowed without a special permit, so please limit your contiguous set-up to that size space.
Do not count on camping next to your display; space is extremely limited and available only by special arrangement in advance. Space for tents in the Merchant area is limited and available for merchants only by special arrangement. Merchants may request this in the Merchant application section of the form but please indicate your second housing choice in the Housing section of the application form. The Merchant coordinator will make all arrangements and contact merchants before the event.
There will be space for display ads in our program book, please
contact us at earthspirit@earthspirit.com
if you are interested.
Merchanting parents should remember that they are responsible for their children at all times. |
