The vast majority of experienced presenters at Rites of Spring are volunteers from within the community. If you or your group would like to offer a workshop, organize a ritual, perform music, dance or theater, or contribute to the program in any way, please fill out the attached Program Proposal PDF and return it to us as soon as possible -- definitely before the proposal deadline of Spring Equinox, March 20, 2010. We like to include as many of the traditions represented as possible, so we encourage you to share the way that you practice by offering a presentation.
If you are interested in presenting a workshop or performance, leading a discussion or affinity group, leading a children's activity or a ritual, please print the
proposal form PDF, fill it out completely adding as much detail as possible and return it to EarthSpirit by Spring Equinox, March 20. The first round of program decisions will be made at that time. Anything received after that date will be added to a waiting list and scheduled on a space-available basis.
This year we have changed the program schedule to allow for more flexilbility of presentation, please tell us if you would prefer a 1, 1.5 or a 2 hour time for your program offering.
Due to space and time limitations and the wonderful amount of offerings we receive, only featured presenters will be guaranteed more than one presentation.
If you wish to offer more than one presentation fill out a form for each and number them in order of your preference.
If this is your first time at Rites of Spring please consider attending without presenting.
(Most workshop slots are 1 1/2, 2 or 3 hours, performances
are often grouped together as time and style suggest.)
Type of presentations can include:
- Workshop
- Discussion
- Performance
- Ritual
- Childrens Program
- Young Adult / Next Generation
- Affinity Group
- Multi-session in-depth class
Please include in the description of your presentation the content of the presentation, its goals, and a summary of how you are qualified to present this material. If it is a performance, include a request for any special equipment or space that you need. In addition, please include a 2-3 sentence summary of your presentation for publication in the program book, as well as a 2-3 sentences about yourself to serve as a bio. One bio per presenter please. We don't want to have to edit your words for space, so please keep descriptions and bios to between 30 and 100 words each.
Please include your email address on the form and answer all of the questions so that your program proposal can be considered.
It is mandatory to
answer *all* of the questions, or we cannot accept your offering. Thanks!
Program decisions will be made in April and you will be informed by mid
May which of your presentations have been accepted.
