Tonight is Krampusnacht, let us honor the wild.
Many feet travel the Earth
Often we don’t see them
The wild ones pass
In the night or
At dawn and dusk
They brush the edges of human space
Feel their energy pull us
Deep toward the wild places
On the pathway
Through the seasons
There are signs
Sometimes there are flowers
Other days brightly colored leaves
Or mushrooms
But in winter we see the tracks
Patterns in the snow
Reminders that we share
This world with all beings
